2.2 Collection, use and disclosure of personal information
To improve the user experience, the Android version requests personal identification information, including mobile device information.
2.3 Third-party SDKs and personal information sharing
The Android version uses the following third-party SDKs, which may share personal information with their providers:
| SDK | Provider | Types of personal information | Purpose | Privacy information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alipay App Payment Client SDK | Alipay (Hangzhou) Information Technology Co., Ltd. | IMEI, IMSI, MAC address, device and hardware serial numbers, SIM serial number, ICCID, Android ID, OAID, SSID and BSSID; system settings and properties, device model and brand, operating system; IP address, network type, carrier information, Wi-Fi status, parameters and lists; installed app lists. | Protect accounts, funds and payment security; maintain reliable payment services; meet legal obligations relating to anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and fraud prevention; select and optimize network connections. | Alipay SDK privacy information |
| Bugly Android | Shenzhen Tencent Computer Systems Co., Ltd. | Phone model and brand, Android version and API level, manufacturer system version, CPU architecture, root status, disk and SD card usage, memory usage, network type, and the name and PID of the running app process. | Investigate crashes and application-not-responding conditions to improve app stability. | Bugly SDK personal information protection rules |
| Microsoft App Center SDK | Microsoft | App-Secret, Install-ID, sdkName, sdkVersion, osName, osVersion, locale, timeZoneOffset, appVersion and appBuild; crash and error logs, crash attachments, custom properties, error and crash user IDs, and symbol files. | Send data to App Center services through the central ingestion service. The data sent depends on the SDKs and services used, their configuration, and the app data handled by the crash service. Some services require certain data to operate. | Data collected by App Center SDKs |
3 iOS privacy
This section applies to Salt Player on iPhone and iPad. It explains local data handling, file access, optional sync and the use of Apple services by feature.
3.1 Local music and app data
The iOS version reads, plays and manages audio, artwork and lyrics that you choose. Your music library, playlists, listening history and app settings are stored locally on your device. If you choose to enable iCloud sync, the data listed in Section 3.3 is also stored in your own iCloud account.
We do not collect or retain iOS users’ audio, listening history or device identifiers on our servers. The iOS version does not integrate SDKs for advertising tracking, usage analytics or crash reporting.
3.2 File and folder access
You can select files or folders with the system file picker, or import files through system sharing. The app uses the access you grant to read the selected files for music playback, library organization and edits that you initiate.
Files may be stored on your device or in your own iCloud Drive. Transfers of cloud files are handled by the corresponding system services. This file access is separate from the iCloud data sync described below.
3.3 iCloud data sync
iCloud sync is optional, requires an active Pro entitlement and must be enabled by you in the app’s settings. Until you enable it, the app does not upload your music library data through this feature. You can continue using local music features without enabling sync.
Once enabled, the app uses Apple’s CloudKit service to sync the following data across devices using the same iCloud account, keeping the relevant library information and listening statistics up to date:
- Playlist names, descriptions, song membership, order, sorting settings and playlist artwork;
- Song tags, including title, artist, album, album artist, genre, year and track number, as well as song duration and favorite status;
- Listening records, including start time, date, listening duration and the associated song information, used to generate listening statistics;
- Content hashes used to identify matching audio, together with account-linked identifiers, record identifiers and change information needed for sync.
This data is stored in the CloudKit private database associated with your iCloud account and counts toward your iCloud storage quota. It is not transferred through our servers or made public to other users through this feature. We cannot directly view the contents of your private database through the developer console.
This sync feature does not transfer audio or lyrics files. Local file paths and app settings are not synced. You need to make audio files available on each device, for example by importing them. Apple’s handling of data for iCloud is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
3.4 Pausing sync and managing data
You can turn off iCloud sync in the app’s settings. This pauses further syncing and retains existing local data, pending changes and existing cloud data. Turning off the switch does not automatically delete that data. When you resume sync, existing data and changes made while sync was paused can continue to sync.
If you no longer have an active Pro entitlement, the app stops syncing without automatically deleting local or cloud data. Synced data is associated with the iCloud account used when sync was enabled. Switching accounts does not automatically migrate data from the original account to the new one; continuing the original sync requires the original account.
You can use iCloud storage management in system settings to view the storage used by this app and use Apple’s available options to manage or delete the corresponding cloud data. The location and available options vary by system version. Turning off sync and deleting cloud data are separate actions.
Deleting a playlist in the app syncs that deletion to other devices. Necessary deletion markers remain in the cloud to prevent other devices from restoring deleted items. Deleting a playlist does not clear all of the app’s cloud data.
3.5 Apple Music and the system media library
With your permission, the app can use Apple’s interfaces to read the system media library, match songs, display music information and play music. You can change these permissions in system settings. Declining permission does not prevent local playback of files imported through the file picker.
Apple’s handling of data for its services is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
3.6 Local network access
When you start computer import, the app transfers the music files you select between your computer and device over the same local network. This feature requires local network permission. Your files are not transferred through our servers.
3.7 Pro purchases
Pro monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions and permanent unlocks are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. The app uses StoreKit on your device to verify transactions and Pro entitlements. We do not receive your bank card number or complete payment details.
Apple’s handling of purchase, payment and subscription account information is governed by Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policy.
3.8 Contacting support
If you choose to contact our support team by email, we receive the message content and reply address you provide and use them only to handle your inquiry. Please do not send unrelated private files or payment credentials.
